Jets Bring Home 17 Medals at Cornhusker Games

Seward, NE. - On a day where the heat index reached 112 and the actual temperature was 102 the Jets came home with a pile of medals. Chris Hatch won 3 gold running on the 4x100 meter relay team, 4x400 meter relay and won the 1500. Chris also was the silver medal winner in the 800. Will Scheiedeler won the long jump with a leap of 15'0". Will was the runnerup in the 80 Meter Hurdles with a club record of 13.9 Will also ran with Jeff Morrison, Stirling Hedderich and Nate Key to finished second in the 4x400 in a club record 5:06.00. Jenna Raef was a little off her game but hung tough to win the bantam girls high jump with a leap of 3'06. Jenna also competed in the 200. Robbie Morrison was on the winning 4x100 meter relay team. Robbie qualified for the finals in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.9. Robbie also competed in the long jump.

Nate and Lindsay Key both had fantastic days. Nate finished third in the 80 Meter hurdles with a P/R 16.1. Nate competed in the 800 and was part of the second place 4x400 meter relay team. Lindsay, was third in the bantam girls 400, 4th in the long jump with a leap of 10'6.75" and was a member of the bantam girls 4x400 meter relay team that finished second. Other members of the relay which ran a time of 6:55.0 included Kelsie Roth, Wendy Leuenberger, and Anne Flesher. Kelsie also competed in the high jump. Wendy ran a P/R 39.0 seconds in the 200 and Anne ran a P/R 43 seconds. Alex Scheideler finished 4th in the shot put with a toss of 21'0.5", a P/R. Gabby Roth ran a super 4:21.00 to break a P/R in the 800. Bailey Roth finished the 800 in a time of 3:38.0 to break a P/R. Bailey also long jumped 8'9.5". Jeff Morrison finished 6th in the 80 Meter hurdles with a time of 16.9 and also finished 6th in the long jump with a leap of 12'9.5" tieing his P/R. Jonathan Rife lead the day off with a sixth place finish in the 3000. Jonathan also long jumped 9'2.25".
