Chris Hatch Scorched Two Golds Medals and Jenna Raef Leaps to Gold at Geneva

Madison MacLean, Kendall Frantz, Alex Scheideler, Will Scheideler and Luke Linder each pick up the Bronze

Geneva, NE - Geneva, Nebraska was a very hot place on Saturday for the Lincoln Jets. In the 90 degree heat Chris Hatch won the intermedate boys 1500 in a P/R time of 4:30.42. Chris also won the 800 in easy fashion posting a time of 2:08.00. The final race for Chris saw a very gutsy sixth place finish in the open 400. Jenna Raef really took off bettering her own Jet record by 6 inches. Jenna brought home the gold jumping 3'8". Jenna also ran a PR in the 200 and participated in the long jump.

Madison MacLean had a very fine day establishing two club records and breaking a PR in the midget girls long jump. Her record throw in the shot put finished 5th with a throw of 20'03". Madison's record in the discus brought her home a bronze medal. Kendall Frantz was able to jump 5'10" to bring home the boys intermediate bronze medal. Alex Scheideler was very strong in the bantam boys shot put, bringing home a 4th place ribbon with a club record throw of 20'00". Alex also threw the javelin over 65'0 to bring home the bronze. Alex's older brother Will Scheideler also brought home the bronze in the midget boys javelin. A very tough hot day prevented Will from breaking a PR in the javelin, however he finished 8th in a very tough field of 800 meter runners. Will also finished fourth in the midget boys long jump. Luke Linder was awesome by exploding his PR in the midget boys shot put with a throw of 27'07". The bronze medal for Luke was also topped off with a 6th place finish in the discus.

Overall, the Jets brought home 7 medals, 25 ribbons, and broke 19 club records and 21 individual PR records. That is just fantastic for a first year club. Ribbon winners included Austin Novotny 5th high jump; James Ford 5th shot, 5th discus; Jeff Morrison, Nate Key, Jay Kilpatrick and David Peaslee 6th 4x100. Lisa Gran, Lindsay Key, Rachel Gran, and Kelsie Roth 5th in girls 4x100. Julie Saathoff 5th Shot put, 5th discus; Lacey Pickering 5th long jump; Matt Anderson 5th discus; Kyle Gran, Jonathan Rife, Stirling Hedderich 4th 4x800. Lindsay Key 6th 400.
