Will Scheideler Fires 111'09" to Win the Javelin Gold, Four Feet Short of State Record

Alex Scheideler, scores the Silver Medal , Braden Forst and Dillon Forst land a Bronze

Omaha, NE - Benson High School was the host of yet another very hot day for track and field. A pair of Jet brothers bring home the hardware for the the Jets. Will Scheideler shined with a wonderful throw of 111'9" in the midget boys javelin throw. That mark fell four feet short of the state record. Will added to his medal collection with a bronze medal performance in the midget boys long jump, leaping 13'5 3/4 inches. His medal performances were preceded by a PR in the 800 with a fourth place time of 2:41.3.

Brother, Alex Scheideler kept his medal streak alive with a silver medal performance in the bantam boys javelin. Alex threw the javelin a PR 68'06", only one foot from winning the competition. Alex also brought home the 4th place ribbon in the bantam boys shot put with a put of 19'06". Another brother combination found Braden Forst scoring a bronze medal in the midget boys discus, with a PR throw of 47'5" and Dillon Forst leaping to a bronze medal performance of 5'06" in the intermediate high jump. Dillon participated in the 200 and the long jump but, results were not complete at this time. Braden also threw the shot put for the first time.

Jonathan Rife was 5th in the midget boys 3000 running an unofficial P/R of 13:46.00. Jeff Morrison recorded a 5th place finish in the 80 meter hurdles timed in a PR 16.50. Jeff also finished 5th in the midget boys long jump with a leap of 11'2 3/4". Jay Kilpatrick finished 4th in the midget boys high jump, jumping 3'06". Jay also ran a PR 16.59 in the midget boys 80 meter hurdles.

The results from the track were not available at the meet due to computer problems. Results should be posted later in the week. Justus Kollet opened his season by competing in the long jump and the bantam boys 100. Justus was very brave running on an injured leg. Lindsay Key was very good in the bantam girls 200 and 400. Robbie Morrison competed in the intermediate boys 100 and long jump. Jeff Morrison and Jay Kilpatrick competed in the 100 meter dash.
