Sonic Booms at Pawnee City Result in Seven Gold Medals for the Jets Chris Hatch Scores Two Gold, Clayton Hullet Shatters P/R by 2 Feet for Gold, Jeff Morrison, Nate Key, David Peaslee, and Stirling Hedderich land Gold in 4x400 with "Black Magic"
Pawnee City - On a splendid June day, fourteen Jets flew into Indian field and landed 16 medals (7 gold), 10 ribbons, 8 club records and 10 P/R's. Chris Hatch's 3 medals included a gold in the 800 with a club record time of 2:03.8, a gold in the 1500 with a record time of 4:24.0 and a P/R finish in the 400 with a time of 54.4. Clayton Hullet was outstanding leaping close to 2 feet over his personal best in the long jump. The jump of 13'3 1/4" landed Clayton the gold. Clayton also finished 5th in the turbo javelin and a P/R 6th place finish in the midget boys 200. The Jets midget boys 4x400 meter relay team (Jeff Morrison, Nate Key, David Peaslee and Stirling Hedderich) posted a time of 5:25.5 to break the Jet club record. Jeff Morrison also received the silver medal in the long jump with a P/R best of 12'09 3/4 inch. Jeff's third medal, a silver, recorded a club record of 16.2 in the 80 meter hurdles. Madison MacLean had a busy day receiving the silver medal in the discus throw with a club record of 55'10". Madison also was 4th in the javelin and had a P/R in the long jump. Bailey Roth also received the silver medal in the bantam boys high jump. Bailey jumped 2'10" and also ran PR's in the 200 and 400. Kelsie Roth was a two medal performer, scoring a bronze in the high jump with a leap of 2'10 and a bronze in the bantam girls long jump. Kelsie's leap of 9'6" bettered her own personal best. Kelsie also lowered her P/R in the 200. Luke Linder heaved the shot put 26'6" to bring home the bronze medal. Luke also finished fourth in the discus with a P/R best of 57'10". Matt Anderson bettered Luke by one inch to beat the club record and also bring home the bronze. Stirling Hedderich finished 5th in the midget boys 800 with a P/R best of 2:46.3 and finished 6th in the high jump. Jacob Danielson leaped to a third place finish in the high jump. David Peaslee finished 5th place P/R in the midget boys high jump and participated in the 200. Nate Key ran the 800 and the midget boys 80 meter hurdles. Jackson MacLean finished 4th in the bantam boys long jump and participated in the 100. Gabby Roth set a personal best in the 400 and ran really hard in the 100 and 200. Black Magic was the baton used by the 4x400 meter relay team. The baton was Chris Hatch's pride and joy from his younger days. He told the boys that they could use it but, they had to bring home the gold to keep the magic alive. |
