Jets Begin Season in Cold, Wind and Rain at Oxford

Jeff Morrison brings home 1st Jet Medal placing 3rd in hurdles. Lacey Pickering finishes 4th in the long jump. Clair Hall finishes 5th in midget girls 400.

OXFORD,NE- The weather conditions were 46 and cold, wind out of the south, wind out of the north 35 mph, sun, driving rain, specs of snow. Three Jet athletes braved the conditions to bring home a medal and two ribbons.

. Jeff Morrison finished 3rd in the midget boys 80 meter hurdles with a time of 17.4. Jeff long jumped 11 feet 1/4 inch and ran the 100 into a 35 mph wind and ran it in 17.5 seconds. Lacey Pickering finished 4th in the long jump with a PR jump of 11'4 inches. Lacey also made the finals on the 100 meter dash running 17.5 seconds, also into a fierce wind and rain. She finished 7th in the midget girls 200 in a time of 35.4. Clair Hall finished 5th in the midget girls 400 meter dash in a time of 1:35.4. Clair also long jumped a PR 8'9". These were the worst conditions I have witnessed for track and field in a very long time.
