Kilpatrick, Roth and Danielson fly to Miami for National J.O.

Kelsey 15th High Jump, Jacob 16th Javelin and Jay 30th Hurdles

Miami, FL. - The 2003 National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships were held in Miami, Florida over a six day stretch. Amanda Latsch, Will Scheideler, Christian Sanderfer, Chris Hatch, Avrie Welton, Kelsey Roth, Jacob Danielson and Jay Kilpatrick all qualified to move on to Florida. The Jets had qualified in ten events.

Jacob Danielson was the first to make the trip to Miami and compete in the midget boys javelin. Jacob had a toss of 90'8" to finish 16th place.

Kelsey Roth competed on Friday in the Bantam girls high jump. Kelsey jumped 3'7.25" to finish 15th place for the Jets.

Jay Kilpatrick competed on Saturday via live internet in the midget boys 80 meter hurdles. Jay failed to qualify for finals but, ran a terrific race in 14.63 to finish 30th in a very tough field of competititoni.

Congratulations to these three Jets on an outstanding season and effort at Nationals. Last season Chris Hatch, Elizabeth Wild, Jenna Raef and Will Scheideler all competed at Nationals. Chris Hatch 14th place finish in the 800 and the 1500 was the lowest finish by a Jet.
