JETS Loaded with Medals

Bantam Boys Team Superb

Lincoln, Nebraska - The Lincoln Jets participated at the 2006 LYTC invitational track meet last Saturday. The day started at 41 degrees and very cold but, ended Sunny and 70 degrees. The Jets warmed up like the weather. The Lincoln Jets brought home 50 medals including 15 Gold, 22 Silver and 13 Bronze. The Jets placed in the top 6 in 68 events.or entries. Thirteen Jet Club records were broken, including 39 Top 5 Club marks of all-time. Most importantly 47 personal bests were broken and 13 new ones were established. Super effort by the Jets. Had the meet been scored, which USATF does not score any track meets, the bantam boys team would have scored 78 points. From field events to sprints and distance the bantam boys team are very solid. The 4x100 Meter Relay team finished second and the 4x400 Meter Relay team came from 100 yards behind to beating the Jaguars.
Scoring points was taken away from youth track and field back in the 90's when USATF took over the youth programs from TAC. For curosity mostly, I pointed out the LYTC meet just to show where clubs are the strongest. Keep in mind clubs are missing lots of athletes and most clubs in the state were not represented. Cornhusker Flyers and Bellevue Breeze are not close to full strength and we we missing some kids also. But, for fun here goes and it shows how well the Jets did in the meet.
