A Record Eleven Jets Compete at Junior Olympics Nationals

Max Church 3rd High Jump, Sam Morris 8th High Jump

Walnut, CA. - A record eleven Jets tracked to California to compete in 12 events for the 2007 USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Mt. Sac in Walnut, California. Max Church brought home the bronze medal in the midget boys high jump with a leap 4'9". Sam Morris doubled at the championships with a medal in the bantam boys high jump with a leap of 4'3.25". Sam also hurled the Javelin 90'1" to finish 10th place. Anne Flesher continued her consistancy with a throw of 84'8" in the youth girls Javelin. Anne placed 15th in the competition. Madeleine Simon placed 17th in the bantam girls 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:12.70. Madison MacLean picked up 20th place in the interemediate girls Javelin throw with a toss 82'1" . The Jets four 400 Meter runners finished 20th in the Young Mens 4x400 Meter Relay with a time of 3:25.04. Relay members were Ryan Roettger from Pius X, Zach Simon from Pius X, Tory Berks for Lincoln Northeast and Paul Pape from Lincoln High. All but Berks returns to try to make nationals in Omaha, Nebraska. Danny Berks returned to his second national championship to finish 23rd in the Young Men's Pole Vault with a leap of 13'9.25". Kyle Danielson made his third trip to nationals in the last three years and found some footing problems before finishing 30th in the midget boys Javelin.
