JETS TAKE HOME 41 MEDALS
Iaquinta, Zimmerman Break Club Records
Lincoln, Nebraska - The Lincoln Jets 6th annual Spring Launch Invitational at Lincoln High School was a chilly start but, gave way to sunny skys in the the afternoon. The Jets came home with a total of 41 medals with 27 athletes. The club has 57 members and the turn out was a club record low. Other activities, weather and the economy lead to a poor turnout at the meet. The meet had 203 athletes and was down over 125 athletes over last year. Grace Iaquinta established a new Jets record in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:57.7 and tied her own 800 Meter mark at 2:52.7 as she brought home one gold and two silver medals. Derek Zimmerman brought home two gold medals and one bronze medal as he tied the youth boys long jump record. Thanks to all the Jet parents and past Jet parents that made this event a continued classic first class meet .
